Welcome! Jacki Smith, 21st CCLC Specialist

Castleberry ISD welcomes Jacki Smith as the district’s new 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program Specialist. Smith joins Castleberry ISD from Birdville ISD where she served as a Site Coordinator and Family Engagement Specialist for the past two years. She started her career in education five years ago as Federal Programs Assistant and Parent Liaison at Franklin County School District.

Jacki Smith is a highly accomplished individual with a robust educational background. She pursued her academic journey at Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science with a specialized focus on Computer Engineering Technology in 2017. Demonstrating her dedication to learning, Smith continued her studies and graduated with a Master of Science in Workforce Education Leadership, achieving the highest distinction in 2019. Her academic achievements reflect a strong commitment to both technical expertise and leadership skills, positioning her as a valuable asset in the fields of technology and education.

Smith's professional journey has been marked by remarkable achievements and rapid advancement. Within just eight months of joining her previous district, she demonstrated exceptional prowess as a Family Engagement Specialist, leading to a swift promotion to the role of Site Coordinator. Notably, Smith completed the Leadership in Training course offered by The Link Church in June 2023, adding to her impressive skill set and commitment to meaningful engagement. Her innate ability to cultivate and nurture strong connections with families and communities has been a defining trait throughout her career, enabling her to build enduring partnerships.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Smith's life is enriched by her personal pursuits and relationships. Hailing from Natchez, MS, Smith shares a deeply cherished bond with her husband and best friend, Victor Smith, with whom she will soon celebrate five years of marriage in September. Outside of her career, Smith finds joy and relaxation in cricut crafting, indulging in reading, and relishing precious moments of quality time shared with her husband.

In conclusion, Smith stands on the guiding philosophy that there is always room for improvement, which was instilled in her at a young age by her late grandmother Cynthia M. Barfield. Smith looks forward to the transformative influence her endeavors will bring to families and students within the 21st CCLC Program at CISD. She extends her heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Education for the invaluable opportunity to contribute to the Castleberry ISD community.
