Bluebonnet Clubs

Read 5 and decide!  Each year Castleberry ISD students in grades 3-5 join over 70,000 Texas students from across Texas to vote for their favorite Texas Bluebonnet title. Each year, 20 books are chosen for the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List. Schools, including our three elementary schools, AV Cato, Castleberry Elementary, and Joy James Academy of Leadership are encouraged to read a minimum of five books from the list. In January, students vote for their favorite title. This year, to encourage more readership and voting, the Campus Librarians created the Bluebonnet Club. Meeting after school, students read and discuss several of the titles. Beginning this year, students will battle out their knowledge at the districts first ever Bluebonnet Book Battle. Held in April, students will team up to test their Bluebonnet knowledge and compete to find a campus winner.
